again because the nats won last night. and also about joe biden's performance last night. that's the big story of the day of course. joe biden did everything last night that president obama did not do in his debate last week. he was cool, confident, cocky, convincing, and paul ryan was flustered all over the place. and every time joe biden smiled you knew paul ryan was lying. first let's with today's current news update. lisa ferguson outin los angeles. >> good morning, everyone. it was the aggressive joe biden, democrats wanted and it was an aggressive joe biden they got. >> it has been done couple of times >> it has never -- >> [ inaudible ] >> oh, now you are john kennedy. it shouldn't be surprising for a guy who says 47% of americans are unwilling to take responsibility for their own lives. >> biden was caught smirking smiling, and even laughing through much of the debate. not sure how you could not laugh because of the lies coming from ryan. according to the twitter verse biden's most popular remark of the night was when he asked ryan now you are jack ken

if joe biden can turn in a good performance on thursday. >> let's take a look at this, mr. mayor. go ahead, did you want to say something? >> go ahead. >> you can't refight the last fight. last wednesday was last wednesday. we can't debate the debate. let's move on. we have one this week. we have 30 days to go. you know, every day is not a spectacular day for any one of us in these professions that we have. president obama is the same president he was last tuesday, last wednesday, last thursday. moving this country forward, getting people back to work, focused on issues both domestically as well as our international partners around the world. i mean, the speech today by mitt romney about foreign policy was a joke. it has been already panned by so many who actually know what they're talking about. this is the same guy who couldn't even go to the olympics in london and do that right insulting our good friends and our great partner in the uk. so let's talk about the substance of what it takes to run the united states of america, the most powerful country in the world, and not about, you

"morning joe" starts right now. >>> i had a different reaction to that first debate than a lot of people did. i mean, i thought -- i thought, wow, here's old moderate mitt. where you been, boy? i missed you all these last two years. now, the problem with this deal is the deal was made by severe conservative men. that was how he described himself for two whole years until three or four days before the debate. they got together and said hey, man, this ship is sinking faster than the titanic. so just show up with a sunny face and say, i didn't say all that stuff i said the last two years. are you going to believe me or your lying eyes here. come on. what are you doing? if i'd been the president, i might have said well, hate to get in the way of this. i miss you. >> oh, boy. >> vegas brings it out. >> yes, it does. >> i don't think it was vegas. good morning, everyone. welcome to "morning joe." it's wednesday, october 10th. with us on set we have msnbc contributor mike bark kel and chairman of deutsch incorporated donny deutsch,

are trying to figure out what is hapning in a race. take are doing well, let's indiana, for example. joe donnelly comes out and at the end of the primary, the republican candidate lacks money . all the polls show us ahead. we are doing great. they have to sit there and say we know that murdoch is sitting there with no money. do we jump a in and try to help? should we fill that time? that is the kind of decisions these independent expenditures go through all the time. sometimes they are. in general, we love to take kant's from the candidate. even though we are not coordinated, and so it is better the notion that we're taking hints to see what the campaign would like because we do not want to do something they do not like. sometimes we are the ones to jump first. >> to be candid, traditionally it is contrasting-. -- contrasting negative. the obama campaign was clear they would not wait to define mitt romney. they felt they did not do a good job with the outside -- outset, this would be more difficult situation. what jeff and his team have pulled off is a certain perception of mitt romney.
